It’s Gonna Be a Shiny Christmas!

Hey Y'all!!!  It's almost time for snow.  Decided to make a SHINY Christmas Village and its first snowfall.  Don't you just love the quiet outside when it snows.  Added some Pear Blossom Press EZ-Lights to showcase the night sky.  Just ‘Press Here'.  Can't wait for the snow to come!!  All the details for this card are below (including links).

I started by cutting all these cute little houses from retired Stampin' UP! Red Foil Paper using the new ‘Slimline Scenic Countryside‘ Die from Whimsy Stamps.  Everything cuts so clean including all those little windows.  The houses are the perfect size to add some depth to your scene.  Cut the horses from Stampin' UP Basic Black card stock.  Cut the trees from ‘Sweet Sentiments Premium Coloring Paper‘ and colored them with Copic Markers.  Hung some glittery decorations on the trees.

Cut the snowy hills from ‘Sweet Sentiments Premium Coloring Paper‘ too, even though I wasn't coloring it, because I LOVE the shimmer the paper has.  Used the rounded hill in back and the the ascending/descending hill in front for a little more fun.

Pear Blossom Press has a fun product called an EZ-Light.  Comes with its own battery and three lights with cables long enough to place under different parts of the card or project.  I placed the three lights under each of the three large houses in the front and covered the rest of the windows in the unlit houses with Shiny Silver Foil paper.  Used Foam Strips to pop the front layer of snow up to allow for the EZ-Lights between the layers.  Added a sign that says ‘Press Here' so the recipient of the card would know exactly what to do.  SO FUN!!!  Layered the houses on the snowy hills.  Popped some up with small pieces of foam strips.

To create the night sky background I used Distress Oxide Black Soot & Hickory Smoke inks.  Love the ‘Cotton Tail Blending Brushes‘ from The Rabbit Hole Designs.  So smooth and effortless for Distress Oxide Inks.  Created snowflakes on the Oxide background using both a 10 & 8 gelly roll pen.

The shiny red border is also from the new ‘Slimline Scenic Countryside‘ Die from Whimsy Stamps.  It is raised up with Foam Tape as well.  Entire card is adhered to a black card background.  Covered the houses, fence, trees and Press Here post with snow from a 3 mm Snow Marker.  Just use the marker to color where you want the snow to be, let it dry and use a heat gun to puff it up.  How cool!  Added the moon and star using Whisper White & Basic Black card stock.

The sentiment “Merry Christmas” is from the ‘Elegant Ornaments‘ stamp set from Whimsy.   They are actually two separate sentiments.  I used my Misti to line them up and create the overlap of the scripts.

Merry Christmas Y'all!!!
