My Beautiful Solarium

Hey Y'all!!!  So excited to showcase another a beautiful card as part of the Design Team for Scrappy Tails Crafts.  Today it's all about dies and again, minimal coloring involved.  Did I say I was obsessed with these Bay Window templates.  It actually folds flat and fits perfectly inside an envelope for mailing.  This beautiful folding vase is available in my Etsy store HERE!  All the details for making this card yourself are below (including links).

I am absolutely obsessed with these bay window cards.  So fun.  So easy.  I just can't seem to get enough.

I started by cutting out the bay window base pieces from Stampin' UP!'s ‘Basic White‘ card stock.

The two base pieces are 5″ x 7″.  The front piece is scored at 1/2″, 2 1/2, 4 1/2 & 6 1/2.

I cut a stencil using Scrappy Tails Crafts ‘Slimline Brick Background‘ die and used it to color each one of the three front sections of the ‘bay windows'.

I used Barn Door Distress Oxide and those fabulous ‘Cotton Tail Blending Brushes‘ from The Rabbit Hole Designs.  So smooth and effortless for Distress Oxide Inks.  I used some scrap pieces to mask the bay window and keep the brick image inside each section.

Next I cut windows inside each of the bays using Scrappy Tails Crafts ‘Slimline Neighborhood House‘ dies.  So many fun windows & doors.  I love the top curves on all the windows I cut.  I used the same dies to cut the windows out of Stampin' UP!'s ‘Basic White‘ card stock and glued clear window sheets behind the window openings in order to glue the white window frames in place.

For the inside of the card, in what I'm calling the Solarium, I cut lots of leaf shapes and butterflies from Scrappy Tail Crafts ‘Leaf Assortment‘, ‘Sitting Butterflies‘, and ‘Open Butterflies‘ dies.  I used Distress Oxide ‘Broken China', ‘Salty Ocean', ‘Shaded Lilac' and ‘Seedless Preserves' to color the butterflies and glued them all to the inside of the card on top of a piece of beautiful printed paper full of folliage.  I also glued a few stems and a single butterfly to the outside where the card inserts to sit on a table.

The right side of the front of the card just tucks inside the green strip down the right side.  You can just pull it out and it lays flat for mailing.   I'm working on a video for my YouTube Channel.

If I actually had a Solarium in my house I think it would look just like this card?
